Constructed for Durability and EfficiencyWith its borosilicate glass condenser and polished stainless steel housing, this cold trap is engineered for high chemical resistance and dependable performance. The coil-in-tube (immersion) condenser enables efficient cooling with dry ice or refrigerants, catering to capacity ranges between 1 and 2 liters. Every joint and surface is designed to be leak-proof, delivering reliability for sensitive laboratory processes.
Wide Compatibility and Easy InstallationThe SSI/69 condenser model accommodates standard rotary evaporators, making it a universal addition to laboratory setups. Its horizontal, tabletop mounting arrangement fits seamlessly into existing workspaces, and its inlet and outlet ports (10 mm) ensure easy connectivity with vacuum lines. The simple manual operation allows for straightforward handling during vacuum distillation or solvent recovery tasks.
FAQs of Rotary Vacuum Evaporator Cold Trap Condenser Model No. SSI/69:
Q: How does the SSI/69 cold trap condenser enhance solvent recovery in rotary vacuum evaporator applications?
A: The SSI/69 cold trap condenser is designed to capture solvent vapors efficiently by rapidly cooling and condensing them using a coil-in-tube system immersed in dry ice or a suitable refrigerant. This prevents vapors from reaching the vacuum pump, improving solvent recovery and safeguarding laboratory equipment.
Q: What cooling mediums can be used with the SSI/69 condenser, and why are they recommended?
A: This condenser is compatible with dry ice or other appropriate refrigerants. These are recommended because they can achieve the low operating temperatures required (-40C to 20C), optimizing vapor condensation and preventing contamination of the vacuum line.
Q: When should the SSI/69 model be integrated into a laboratory rotary evaporator setup?
A: Use the SSI/69 model whenever you conduct solvent evaporation processes that generate potentially harmful or high-volume vapors. It is especially essential when working with volatile solvents, as it efficiently condenses vapors and protects the vacuum system.
Q: Where is the ideal installation location for the SSI/69 cold trap condenser?
A: The SSI/69 is designed for tabletop or horizontal placement, making it suitable for most standard laboratory benches. Its dimensions (approx. 350 x 180 x 420 mm) allow it to fit conveniently beside rotary evaporators without taking up excessive space.
Q: What are the benefits of the high chemical resistance glass used in this condenser?
A: The borosilicate glass employed in the condenser is tested for high chemical resistance, minimizing the risk of corrosion or reaction with solvents. This extends the life span of the equipment and ensures the purity of condensed solvents for reuse.
Q: How does the leak-proof construction of the SSI/69 enhance laboratory safety?
A: Its leak-proof design prevents hazardous solvent or vapor leaks during operation, reducing risks of exposure and ensuring the safety of laboratory personnel and equipment.
