About LAMINAR AIR FLOW (HORIZONTAL)
LAMINAR AIR FLOW (HORIZONTAL)
Laminar flow principle involves double filteration of air through coarse pre- filters ( upto 5 microns) and hepa filter down to 0.3 microns for filteration of biological and particulate contaminants. A constant uni-directional air flow is drawn from atomsphere and passed through pre and heps filters on the work surface. Fabricated out of reinforcred ply board which is clad in from out side laminated sheet and inner exposed areas are finished in epoxy paint. Table top covered with non glaring laminated sheet or stainess steel sheet optional.
Side Panels are fixed and are made out transparent acrylic sheet. The front door is folding type and made of thick acrylic sheet. Optional stand in built in type or detachable. Blower unit has AUor equilavent motor and is dynamically balanced with minimal sound & vibration level. Fluorescent lighting is also provided. A suitable UV tube is providedfor sterilization. An acrylic block type manometer to measure static pressure in the chamber has been inustaled. Two way gas tap for line has also ben provided.

FAQs of LAMINAR AIR FLOW (HORIZONTAL):
Q: How does the laminar air flow unit maintain ISO 5/Class 100 air cleanliness in laboratories?
A: The unit uses a high-efficiency HEPA filter (99.97%% at 0.3 microns) and a washable synthetic pre-filter to remove airborne particles. It provides consistent horizontal airflow at 0.45 0.05 m/s, effectively sweeping contaminants away from the workspace and maintaining ISO 5/Class 100 standards, as per ISO 14644-1.
Q: What are the benefits of using a horizontal laminar air flow for laboratory applications?
A: Using this laminar air flow ensures a particle-free environment, reducing contamination risks during sensitive operations like cell culture, sample preparation, and electronic assembly. Its efficient airflow, low vibrations, proper illumination, and ergonomic design enhance both accuracy and comfort for laboratory staff.
Q: When should the pre-filter and HEPA filter be maintained or replaced?
A: The washable synthetic pre-filter should be cleaned regularly, depending on lab usage and environmental dust loads. The HEPA filter typically needs replacement when airflow decreases or particle count rises beyond standard limits, which is usually monitored through maintenance schedules or an optional magnehelic gauge.
Q: Where can this equipment be installed, and what materials are used in its construction?
A: This laminar air flow unit is suitable for installation in laboratories, research facilities, and cleanrooms. Its robust SS-304 matt-finish work surface, MS powder-coated body, and transparent acrylic side panels deliver durability, corrosion resistance, and clear workspace visibility.
Q: How can users control the different components of the unit?
A: The equipment features a control panel equipped with toggle switches for operating the blower, ultraviolet (UV) lamp, and illumination. There are also optional accessories available, such as extra electrical sockets and a gas cock for added functionality.
Q: What processes benefit most from using a horizontal laminar air flow system?
A: Processes that demand a sterile, particle-free environmentsuch as pharmaceutical preparations, tissue culture, electronics assembly, and microbiological testingbenefit significantly from this equipments precise air cleanliness and temperature control settings.
Q: What is the typical power consumption, and can the system be customized?
A: Depending on the unit size, power consumption ranges from 350 to 800 watts at 220230 V AC. Both standard models and custom configurations are available to meet laboratory-specific requirements concerning size, accessories, and automation grade.
